Advocates from all over the country are joining together to persuade some of the country’s most powerful leaders that we as a nation need to put a stop to violence against women. If protecting women and girls from abuse and brutality is an issue that you care about, there is an upcoming 3-day conference in Washington, D.C. hosted by CARE.
CARE is kicking off the afore-referenced conference on the evening of March 5th, 2013 at the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., with an elegant reception and an exclusive sneak preview of Girl Rising. At the event, a feature film about the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world will be shown. World-class journalist Dana Bash, CNN’s chief correspondent, will be the speaker at the March 5th, 2013 event.
On March 6-7, 2013, the conference participants will come together to speak out for women and girls all over the world who are victims of violence. There will be sessions held which will prepare participants on how to: make the most of their meetings with Members of Congress, garner media attention for issues, and tried-and-true methods to get their agency’s message to lawmakers, neighbors, and friends.
